A recent survey carried out by Bilendi on behalf of GoCompare Home Insurance has revealed that 85% of homeowners have carried out major buildingworks on their properties within the last five years.
46% of all those suveyed had redecorated within the home.
27% of those surveyed had installed a new bathroom which was the 2nd most popular home renovation after redecorating. 24% have also invested in a new kitchen.
Investing in energy efficient measures for the home was evidentially important to homeowners, 19% of which opted to install double glazing. A further 11% of property owners improved the insulation in a bid to be more energy conscious. Installing a new central heating system or a new boiler was the sixth most undertaken home improvement.
Undertaking a garden make over was the 4th most popular home improvement, according to the survey, which if a property owner is looking to sell is a huge plus point for impressing potential buyers.
